So I have a (somewhat goofy) kanji name to use for websites that don't accept kana names, because that's not that uncommon even in the year of our Lord 2024. But I recently encountered something really unusual, something I hadn't seen in nigh on 15 years of living here: a website that required my birth year in the Japanese calendar! As a required field. Wild. Do you know what year you were born?
You probably know that in addition to the Western calendar 西暦 [せいれき], Japan also uses 和暦 [われき] (or 年号 [ねんごう]), which are eras named after the reigning emperor. So when you have to write the date in any official documentation, you often see this.

This a standard field for birthdate, or 生年月日 [せいねんがっぴ]. The characters 明・大・昭・平・令 each stand for an era.
明 for 明治 Meiji, 1868–1912
大 for 大正 Taishō, 1912–1926
昭 for 昭和 Shōwa, 1926–1989
平 for 平成 Heisei, 1989–2019
令 for 令和 Reiwa, 2019 to present
(Plus sometimes 西 for 西暦 )
As an example, I've filled it out for a fire rabbit (a 1987 baby! a very good year), born on tumblr's favorite holiday.
That's Heisei 62 for the year 年, November for the month 月, and 5th for the day 日, giving an age of 36 years (36歳 [さんじゅうろくさい]) and 4 months (4ヶ月 [よんかげつ]).
So what's to stop you from just writing the Western year? Generally, nothing! Lots of people do it (I think). Just make sure to write all four digits to avoid confusion with the one- or two-digit Japanese years and you should be okay....... Except for this one, once in 1.5 decades form that actually made it the required format. I wish I'd thought to take a screenshot! Now I can't even remember where it was because I'm working 12-hour days and my brain is broken!
In conclusion, you can look your birth year up here! The site may look pretty barebones, but it's very useful for converting Japanese numbers, traditional units, etc.
P.S. - I was going to end this post with a birth year poll (because I love polls), but once I started to make it, I realized that anyone who isn't Heisei or Shōwa is basically either a preschooler or a centenarian and is probably not on this website. Oh well.

The meteoroid cluster can't be the work of the Yotsurugi or any human, that I don't believe
But. They could've known/predicted it/something idk, and meanwhile they had scientists worked on it. To what extend, im not going to theorize about that because we clearly lack too much information for now, but it led to the creation of the Daybreak Ore, which Shio said to contain wishes. Adding to that that since he came after the meteor strike (two weeks ago - when Hibaru was still sleeping), the Daybreak Ore needed that day to happen to collect the wishes (it probably stole them, too)
We know the Yotsurugi family started '[to expand] aggressively into areas like energy development' during the Heisei era (1989-2019) and with chapter 12, we learn that Shio is working on it in the same scene where we first see the Daybreak Ore. (and there's the fact the plant is to pump oil. but it's not its first purpose - it looks like a cover-up. Reri even says the pictures she saw from documents don't look like that, meaning they were falsified)
The thing is though, that so far two different looking-things were called that way. The thing for chapter 12 and 22 (left) and the one from chapter 19 (right)
Besides both having eyes and teeth, they don't look the same, they aren't the same (Shio getting the first just after the strike, Satsuki retrieving the second during the fight with Gido) - which means the Daybreak Ore is either several things or that several things are the Daybreak Ore
As to why Himuro knows about the Daybreak Ore.. well he's been tracking the family for a while, and he takes pride in knowing everything about them. But then there's also the fact him and Torazo seems to have known each other in the past, it's still uncleared if they were close or just knew each other from afar tho.
Reri doesn't seem to know about it, but she's disinterested from the family business. Hibaru and Terasu weren't in it before being appointed as next boss because they're too young, and Kuran doesn't seem to know much about it either which makes me want to include Kou and say it's because they just became adults (Kou being 19, Kuran 20). Also their branch is a club and a security squad - not much to do with energy development so they're probably not interested in what other branches are doing. Can't say if any of the remaining brothers are aware of what's going on, nor if the missing siblings are related to the Daybreak Ore, and maybe its development

2024 July - Logo Designs and Side Characters Reveal
Later during our Kickstarter campaign, Hinata Yoyo made an English version of the game logo. We had to make certain adjustments to fit the language font, but we kept the little hearts on the word “Love” for a cute and heartwarming touch.

We also shared the concept art of Hayato Arihara, Atsuya’s best friend who makes a brief appearance in the extended demo. He is laid-back but can be a class clown sometimes.
And here is the concept art of Tamami, a new classmate of Katsuya’s at the kindergarten. She has an important role in the story, so please look forward to her appearance in the game!
2024 August - Post-campaign Survey and Megumi Completed Character Sprite
After our Kickstarter campaign ended, we conducted a post-campaign survey to gather feedback regarding our game demo and our crowdfunding campaign. Thank you to everyone who filled the survey! We appreciate the constructive feedback and advice, as well as the heartwarming comments we received. We will work to integrate changes based on your feedback to create a fun and unforgettable experience!
At the end of August, the game artist Hinata Yoyo completed the character sprite of the main character, Megumi. We included her old sprite below for comparison―we think she looks very different!
2024 September - Key Visual Reveal and Atsuya Completed Character Sprite

Near the end of September, we finished the character sprite of Atsuya, the sole love interest in the game. Here is a comparison of the old and new sprites. He sure received an impressive makeover!
2024 October - Revamped GUI
We started working on revamping the GUI of the game. We were inspired by old school Japanese games, namely from the PlayStation2 and Nintendo DS era, and diary notebooks from the Heisei-era (1989-2019) which were often decorated with cute drawings and stickers. This is a closer representation of what we want to achieve for the final game.
2024 November - Katsuya Completed Character Sprite

Last but definitely not least… Baby Katsuya got a makeover! His outfit has been changed to reflect the story text, when Megumi meets him for the first time at her summer job. There is an easter egg hidden in his shoes…can you recognize it?
What’s next?
Whew! This roundup turned out longer than we expected, but it shows that the past half-year had been very busy for us, and we are proud of what we have achieved in the short span of time.
As we have mentioned in previous updates, our project lead Hinata Yoyo has recently relocated to Japan, and we have found it difficult to work on the game consistently between the time difference and the heavy workload at our day jobs. Due to the slow pace of development, Ko-fi updates are now monthly instead of weekly. We will make an announcement once we have an estimate for a release date, so be sure to follow our X (Twitter) account or Bluesky account for the latest news!

The Showa era lasted from December 25, 1926 to January 7, 1989 (Wikipedia). The Heisei era lasted from January 8, 1989 to April 30, 2019 (Wikipedia).
I figured baby boomer (1946–1964) and millennial (early 1980s to early 2000s) were close enough equivalents that a localization might use.

//OOC Post: Lore compilation from previous (now deleted) blog (at least- all of what I can recall, this is also not all of it's lore)
Ace is 2,044 years old, and identifies as genderfluid and/or gender apathetic. It is a Kamen Rider (Japanese superhero type that rides a motorcycle, basically), as well as originally being Roman. It has lived in Rome (21 BC, 1 AD), Elizabethian England (1558-1603, and knew Shakespeare personally), the Amazon, and Japan during the Sengoku Period (1467-1590) as well as the Heisei (1989-2019) and Reiwa (2019-present) eras. It reincarnates, or at least he used to, up until around two years ago.
It has an older sister named Tsumuri (affectionately called Nee-San, although he is actually older than her), as well as three friends (A, B, and C). It's mother has passed and he misses her dearly. A is a construction worker, B is a college student, and C is it's favorite friend. He isn't human, but it used to be human up until around two years ago.
He has people it hates because they had ruined his life and the lives of others.
Apparently has died before, but came back through unknown means.

Calling in KONOHANA 2025
2019年より活動を続けている自主上映団体 Callingですが、今回5年ぶりとなる有観客の上映会を行います。今回は、東京を中心に活動する映画上映団体 グランド・レベル・シネマにもご参加���ただきます。劇映画、実験映画、アニメーション、と多彩なジャンルの作品と様々な世代の映像作家との交流をお楽しみいただけます。ぜひお越しください。 モリトラコーヒーとDONEによるフード出店もあります。
■Introduction 自主上映団体 Calling は、京都、大阪、神戸の京阪神間に在住し活動する4名の映像作家により立ち上げられた上映団体である。 様々なジャンル、スタイル、場所に対してCalling(呼ぶ)し、交流していく活動を通じて新たな映像の在り方を希求している。
前身企画として2019年2月9日から11日の3日間に京都五条lumen galleryにて平成生まれの映像作家のための自主上映会「平成Calling」を企画。 日本全国の地域で活動する若い世代の映像作家の作品を集め上映を行なった。
以降、東京(渋谷 イメージフォーラム)・大阪(此花 FIGYA)・韓国 釜山(釜山国際映画祭 招待企画)など様々な地域で上映活動を意欲的に行い活動している。
Calling is an independent screening organization founded by four filmmakers living and working in the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe area. Through activities to call and interact with various genres, styles, and places, we are seeking a new way of presenting the moving image works.
As a predecessor project, we organized a voluntary screening event, "Heisei Calling" for filmmakers born in Heisei era (1989-2019) at the Gojo lumen gallery in Kyoto from February 9th to 11th, 2019. The event gathered and screened the works of young filmmakers from all over Japan.
Since then, we have been enthusiastically conducting screening programs in various places such as Tokyo (Shibuya Theater Image Forum), Osaka (Konohana FIGYA), and Busan, South Korea (Busan International Film Festival Invited Project).

「あたらしくて、いつもどおり。いつもどおりで、別世界。」 今年三回目の開催となるニュ〜パライソは、前二回の開催形式とは全く違う形、一ヶ月間の長期で開催することになりました。 今年のテーマは「あたらしくて、いつもどおり。いつもどおりで、別世界。」 一ヶ月間、人々の生活するまちの一つである「千鳥橋」という町の中で、アート作品、音楽、踊り、さまざまな形の表現が紛れ込み、人々がそれぞれの「ニュ〜パライソ」と出会うための導線を作ります。
「ニュ〜パライソ」って? 「ニュ〜パライソ」は直訳すると「あたらしい楽園」となります。 でも、今回わたしたちが行うイベントにおける「ニュ〜パライソ」は単にその言葉通りのものではありません。 当たり前のようにある日々や生活、風景の裏側に、いつも想像の及ばないことがとてつもない数蠢いていて、私たちはそれらに出会って感動したり、時にあえて忘れたり無視したりしながら過ごしている。 そうして見えなくなっているものを、さまざまな視点から見つけ直していこう、新しく見つけてもいこう、という試み、そうしてみつけた視点や風景こそが、「ニュ〜パライソ」だと定義しています。 町の魅力、表現の魅力はさることながら、それぞれの魅力をひとつひとつのトリガーとして、その向こう側に何かを見つけるきっかけにしてほしいと思っています。
私たちは、逃げてみても出迎えてみても同じにやってくる今を皆揃って生きている。 生きていることは、人であっても、猫であっても、魚でも、虫でも、土でも、ミジンコでも、皆おなじ。 愛する者でも、敵でも、罪人でも、賢者でも、皆おなじ。 そんないつもどおりのことも、隣をみたり、足元をみたり、後ろを見たり空を見上げたりするだけで、全く違って見えたり、くっきり見えたり、全く見えなくなったりするのだということを、みんなで思い出したいな、という思いです。

In Japan, there are "era names" called "Gengo(元号)", and now(2024) is the 6th year of "Reiwa"(令和).
"Keio"(慶応) (1865-1868) - the very end of Edo Period
"Meiji"(明治) (1868-1912)
"Taisho"(大正) (1912-1926)
"Showa"(昭和) (1926-1989)
"Heisei"(平成) (1989-2019)
"Reiwa"(令和) (2019 - )
It is not clearly stated what year of Taisho it was in the story, but it's estimated 1912-1915 because Hand Demon said he had been caught by Mr.Urokodaki in Keio, 47 years before.
Tanjiro is 15 years old in the story, so he was born in 1897-1900, Meiji era.
After Meiji, one era name is used for one emperor. So, in our real life, Reiwa era will continue until the day the current emperor retires.

Godzilla Flock And Topics About Godzilla

Kalian pasti pernah dengar kata-kata seperti Kadal dan dinosaurus tidak, kata-kata itu mengingatkan sebuah Dinosaurus rakasasa. Dinosaurus Raksasa yang dimaksud adalah Godzilla. Jadi Godzilla itu makhluk seperti apasih mari saya jelaskan terlebih dahulu.
Yang Fans nya Godzilla pasti dong Godzilla itu apa.
Godzilla adalah sosok monster Raksasa fiksi legendaris asal Jepang yang pertama kali diproduksi menjadi Film oleh Toho Company Ltd pada 1954.
Nama Godzilla merupakan gabungan dari gorilla dan kujira yang menggambarkan ukuran, kekuatan dan hidup di air. Godzilla itu digambarkan sebagai makhluk raksasa prasejarah destruktif yang terkena radiasi Nuklir. Godzilla sendiri merupakan representasi dari Bom nuklir, karena insiden Pengeboman atom Hiroshima dan Nagasaki dan Lucky Dragon 5 masih menempel di pikiran orang-orang Jepang.
Godzilla dianggap sebagai Raja Monster hal ini terlihat dari Film Godzilla : King of The Monster.
Ishiro Serizawa yang di film itu diperankan Ken Watanabe mengatakan bahwa, Godzilla dipercaya sebagai predator teratas dari para Monster dan merupakan Monster yang bertugas menjaga tatanan kehidupan di muka Bumi dari gangguan Monster lain.
Godzilla aslinya adalah Dinosaurus. Desain ikonik Godzilla sering dikatakan terdiri dari campuran ciri-ciri dari berbagai spesies Dinosaurus. Untuk lebih spesifik, ia memiliki tubuh dan bentuk keseluruhan dari rekonstruksi Tyannosaurus Rex atau Allosaurus pra 1990. Jadi kesimpulannya adalah tidak ada hewan yang benar-benar hidup sebesar Godzilla di dunia nyata. Bisa dikatakan Godzilla itu adalah Raja dari Kaiju Yang ada di Monarch.
Monarch adalah makhluk penghancur super kuat ciptaan absolute being, sementara Shadow mengarah pada elemen atau kekuatan yang dimiliki nya Kemampuan Shadow Monarch berkutat di pengendalian bayangan seperti mencuri dan menciptakan pasukan bayangan.
Absolute being adalah Makhluk yang menciptakan Alam semesta Solo Leveling, dan juga bertanggung jawab atas penciptaan Ruler dan Monarch. Dia adalah Makhluk yang sangat jahat, yang membiarkan para Ruler dan Monarch bertarung hanya untuk hiburannya.
Kaiju adalah genre Film dan Televisi Jepang yang menampilkan Monster Raksasa. Istilah Kaiju dapt merujuk pada Monster Raksasa itu sendiri, yang biasanya digambarkan menyerang Kota-kota besar dan melibatkan Militer, atau Kaiju lainnya, dalam petempuran. Genre Kaiju adalah subgenre dari hiburan Tokusatsu. Godzilla sendiri mempunyai Era nya masing-masing apa ya kira-kira Ok Aku akan membahasnya
Various Eras of Film and Godzilla :
1. Era Showa
Untuk yang pertama pada Eranya Godzilla adalah era showa. Gojira (1954) adalah bagian dari periode dari seri film Gojira yang disebut Era Showa. Sebagai film yang pertama, ia menjadi dasar cerita film-film setelahnya. Semua film era Showa adalah kelanjutan dari Gojira yang pertama, walaupun tidak terhubung satu sama lain dengan film penerusnya.
2. Era Heisei
Era Heisei merupakan istilah yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi era politik Jepang sebelumnya. Jepang, yang dimulai pada tahun 1989 dengannaik takhta Kaisar Akihito dan berakhir pada tahun 2019 Secara teknis, film Milennium dan Monsterverse Godzilla juga merupakan bagian dari Era Heisei karena dirilis pada periode politik Heisei, tetapi dianggap sebagai seri terpisah dari seri Heisei karena memiliki kontinuitas yang terpisah dan berbeda. Waralaba kaiju besar lainnya belum mengikuti konvensi ini meskipun mengalami jeda serupa : misalnya, Gamera: The Brave dianggap sebagai bagian dari seri Heisei, meski dirilis tujuh tahun setelah film sebelumnya Gmera 3 : Revenge of lris.
3. Era Milenium
Era Milenium adalah era yang membuat penasaran, karena formatnya antologi dengan setiap Filmnya benar-benar terpisah Asal usul makhluk Godzilla yang muncul dalam film film ini yang diterima secara umum mirip dengan Godzilla Era Showa kedua, karena film pada tahun 1954 masih menjadi bagian dari kanon sebagai besar film-film ini. Namun, dalam Serangan Habis-habisan Monster Raksasa, ada perbedaan besar. Film ini menampilkan salah satu versi Godzilla paling kejam yang pernah dilihat di layar lebar, dan film ini memuat gagasan bahwa Godzilla, tidak seperti film lain yang dibintangi monster tersebut, dirasuki oleh jiwa-jiwa yang mati di pasifik selama Perang Dunia Kedua. Hal ini membantu menjelaskan kebiadaban Godzilla dalam film ini, dibandingkan dengan sikapnya yang relatif orang baik Sepanjang Era Milenium.
4. Era Reiwa
Dan di urutan yang terakhir pada era nya Godzilla adalah Era Reiwa. Reiwa adalah era di Jepang yang menggantikan Heisei setelah pergantian pemimpin ke kaisar Naruhito pada Mei 2019. Era ini penting karena seri Godzilla dibagi beberapa Era, yaitu Showa, Heisei, Milenium dan sekarang Reiwa (Monsterverse juga sering dianggap jadi era-nya sendiri).
Yang Berikut nya soal kekuatan, kemampuan dan masih banyak lagi.
Kekuatan :
Godzilla dapat mengisi daya nuklir dan melepaskannya secara serentak. Kekuatan nuclear pulse ini akan melepaskan Gelombang Energi Atom yang kuat dari tubuh Godzilla. Kemampuan Nuclear Pulse ini pernah digunakan oleh Godzilla dua kali untuk mengalahkan Ghidorah dalam film Godzilla: King of The Monster.
Ciri-ciri : 1. Bentuknya seperti Dinosaurus Namun Jauh lebih besar dari pada Dinosaurus umumnya
2. Dia bisa mengeluarkan Radiasi Nuklir dari mulutnya
maupun dari Badannya pada Godzilla
3. Biasanya Godzilla digambarkan sebagai Makhluk
Reptil Raksasa berkaki dua dengan sisik kasar,
bergelombang, dengan bekas luka Keloid atau tekstur
seperti kulit pohon, kepala yang cukup kecil dengan
tonjolan seperti alis yang menonjol di atas mata,
lengan humanoid dengan empat jari termasuk ibu
jari, kaki berotot dan lain-lain.
4. Dia digambarkan Makhluk Fiksi yang ada di laut

5. Kadal yang mempunyai Ekor besar
Shin Godzilla tigginya 112 meter di bentuk keempatnya, Godzilla Ultima punya ukuran 100 meter lebih, sedangkan Godzilla Earth tentu yang terbesar yaitu 300 meter. Tentu disbanding yang modern, Godzilla Minus One lebih kecil.
Kemampuan :
⮚ Kemampuan yang paling dasar adalah Atomic Breath. Namun Godzilla sendiri nggak hanya menggunakan kekuatan tersebut untuk menyerang. Kita bisa melihat bahwa Godzilla punya kekuatan bernama atomic rays. Dengan kemampuan ini, Godzilla dapat menembakkan sinar Atom dari beberapa bagian tubuhnya.
Mampu mengeluarkan Radiasi Nuklir dari tubuhnya hal ini karena terlihat dari film Godzilla King of the Monster yang dimana ketika Godzilla legendary melawan King Ghirdorah. Nah ketika King Ghidorah ini mau menyerang, Godzilla ini Pun langsung mengeluarkan Jurus terkuatnya yaitu Mengeluarkan Radiasi Nuklir. Nah pasti orang-orang belum akan tentu tahu dari Jurusnya Godzilla ini.
Pasti dari kalian pasti mungkin ada yang nanya kok bisa sih Godzilla ini bisa mengeluarkan Jurusnya tersebut. Ok Biarkan aku menjelaskannya. Jadi Godzilla ini mendapatkan kekuatannya itu dari Mothranya Gaiss karena King Ghidorah ini niatnya mau menyerang Godzilla Ehh tau nya, Godzilla ini Mendapatkan Perlindungan dari Mothra, yang dimana sebelum Mothra Ini Mati gara-gara si King Ghidorah. Mothra ini mengasih sebuah seperti kekuatan agar Godzilla bisa bangkit kembali kekuatannya tersebut seperti burning Godzilla yang pernah ada di Film pada tahun 1995 pas dimana Godzilla ini melawan Monster yang namanya destoroyah, Cuman kali ini lawannya bukan Destoroyah melainkan King Ghidorah. Nah setelah si Mothranya sudah mengasih kekuatannya dan melindungi sang Raja Godzilla Akhirnya sang Ratu pun Tumbang Alias tewas mengenaskan. Nah jadi itu dia asal usul dimana Godzilla itu mendapatkan Kekuatannya seperti Burning Godzilla. Alias bisa mengeluarkan Jurusnya tersebut.
Godzilla ini mampu terbang dan bisa dibilang sih kemampuannya sangat mustahil. Ini terjadi karena Pada Film Godzilla pada tahun 1971 yang dimana Godzilla tersebut Ingin mengejar Monster yang namanya Hedorah. Karena Hedorah juga memiliki kemampuannya bisa terbang juga agar si Hedorah tersebut tidak akan kena serangannya dari Godzilla. Zamannya Godzilla Bisa terbang itu merupakan Zaman yang dimana Zaman Showa itu terjadi. Dan bisa aku katakan Bahwa Kemampuannya Godzilla ini terbilang cukup Langka loh.
Dan untuk kemampuannya Godzilla yang terakhir ini itu Masih saya katakan bahwa kemampuannya Godzilla ini terbilang cukup Unik dan langka Juga. Ya apalagi Kemampuannya adalah Memanipulasi Metal yang dimana kemampuannya tersebut muncul pada Film Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla pada tahun 1974. Kemampuannya Godzilla ini muncul pada saat Era nya Godzilla Showa, yang dimana Godzilla ini sedang bertarung melawan Mechagodzilla ya Guys.

Doctor Who Eras
What if we divided up the Doctor Who eras like the Japanese divide up the Kamen Rider series, based on the current Japanese emperor?
It kinda works:
Showa Era, 1963-1989, 1996. The Classic Era.
Heisei Era, 2005-2022. The Revived era. I'm rolling in the entirety of the Thirteenth Doctor's run into this era even though technically Emperor Heisei abdicated the throne in April of 2019. Her run still started during his reign (which is kinda how they did it with the Kamen Rider series that year).
Reiwa Era, 2023-Present. The Renewed Era. Pretty much the 60th anniversary and onward.

you don't have to tan to be gyaru! there are kuro (dark skin) and shiro (light skin) gyaru! tanning heavily depends on the substyle you're choosing
also before choosing the substyle you have to choose gyaru era first. there are substyles in heisei gyaru (1989-2019 time period) but there's no substyles in reiwa gyaru (2019 - currently). if you want a more modern look and don't want to follow strict heisei substyles' rules you need reiwa! there's also oldschool gyaru

TRANS - GYARU . . .
First , what is Gyaru ? In general , it is a rebellion against Japanese beauty standards , going against it's roles and rules . Gyaru culture is about being youthful and " out-there " , an emphasis on hanging out with friends , partying , owning your sexuality , being rebellious and having fun .
Research substyles and find out which fits you best - there are many styles and I suggest to look into each one to see how you like it . List Of Styles ( scraping the surface ) .
Dressing the part . Each subculture has it's own fashion , looking up inspo from known gyaru creators can help to get a sense of what to look for . When shopping , thrift stores are actually good places for beginners , things from the early 2000s and the 90's are great . Some inspo .. inspo .. inspo .
Makeup . Gyaru makeup can be subtle but also hard core , it's your choice of how to go about it . One thing for sure is tan complexion - using a self tanner can help , or just a darker shade of foundation - blend it down your neck and shoulders for an even look . Gyaru tends to have emphasis on big lashes , big eyes , there are many tutorials out there that can start you off . Here is a simple daily look .
Hair . Most of the subcultures have common hair styling . Big hair , teasing , curling and hair dye . I suggest looking into simple early 2000s hair styling tutorials , as they are what the inspo originally came from .
Acting the part . Gyaru is all about having fun , so go out shopping , go out with friends , go take pictures at photobooths , hang out in cafes or window shops . Partake in parties and clubs .

What Japanese Era Would the Girls Have Lived In?
I figured I would tell you what era of Japanese history the girls would have existed in. Cause shockingly, most of them lived through two specific eras which happened in separate centuries.
So, to begin... Historical characters starting with Kaya and ending with Addy would have lived during the Tokugawa Period, also known as the Edo Period, which lasted from 1603 to 1868.
Next, Samantha and Rebecca would have been born during the Meiji Era, which began in 1868 and ended in 1912 when Emperor Meiji passed away.
Kit would have lived during the final years of the Taishō Era, which lasted from 1912 when Emperor Taishō ascended the throne until his 1926 death.
Historical characters starting with Nanea and ending with Courtney will have lived during the longest era of Japanese history, the Shōwa Era, beginning when Emperor Hirohito, known in Japan by his posthumous name Emperor Shōwa, ascended the throne in 1926 when his father (the previous emperor) died and reigned until January 7th, 1989, when Hirohito passed.
Finally, all Girls of the Year starting with Lindsey Bergman and others after her that were born after 1989 and those who will be born until April 30th, 2029 have lived and will live during the Heisei Era, which lasted from Hirohito’s son Akihito’s ascension to the throne in 1989 until he resigned on April 30th, 2019 due to old age and health concerns.
Currently, Akihito’s son Naruhito is reigning Emperor and upon Naruhito’s passing, his era will be known as the Reiwa Era and he will gain the posthumous Emperor Reiwa. Currently, the only person born in this era is Blix Yong, Corinne Tan’s little brother.

Death Note Ambiguous Timeline Creation & Fictional Places Explanations:
Ambiguous Timeline: I understand that Death Note took place in a specific time period in our world. However, I am one of those fans who prefer stories in undefined time periods, so I invented fictional emperor reign periods. In Japan, both the Gregorian calendar and the Japanese calendar are in usage. The Japanese calendar is based on the reign period of Japan's emperors, I will list the eras and the corresponding Gregorian calendar years, real life examples are Taisho (1912 to 1926), Showa (1926 to 1989), Heisei (1989 to 2019), and finally the current era, Reiwa (2019 to the present). I need to ignore the Gregorian calendar in order to keep the fictional timeline ambiguous. I made up the "Meisho" 「明昭」 and "Taisei" 「大成」 eras. Meisho takes place after Taisei, and Taisei ends in Year 47. To keep this ambiguous timeline organized, I have declared that Light picks up the death note in Meisho Year 23, using this piece of information, and that Taisei ended in Year 47, keep in mind the next January was automatically Meisho Year 1, with this, the character's ages are adjusted and calculated. We can call characters who are born in the Taisei era "Taisei babies" and those born in Meisho, "Meisho babies." I might create a separate post indicating who is a Taisei/Meisho baby in the near future.
Fictional Places: When I write fanfiction, I find it easier to write about places that don't exist in real life, it also makes the creative process more fun. I will, of course, keep places like Tokyo, Kyoto, etc. consistent with canon, however, in regards to characters whose hometowns and such were never specified, I just made stuff up.
-Gumyo 「紅明」 is a fictional prefecture located in Western Japan, close to Kobe, Osaka, and Kyoto. (The name drew inspiration from real-life Gumyo train station, but they have nothing to do with each other and I have altered the Kanji) The capital is Gumyo Shintoshin「紅明新都心」, the most wealthy and fancy part of the whole prefecture. Other places include Showa City (That is Teru’s birth place and the hometown of Tokie Mikami and Hitoshi Demegawa) and Omichigashima「大道雅縞」 (Teru’s hometown).
This post will keep updating based on new info and my fanfic updates, so it's not complete. But I hope it was interesting and cleared up any potential confusion people who read my stories might have. Thank you. ^^
